Purpose & Mission

United Theological Seminary is an educational institution whose primary mission is to help you to know God better and to equip you to serve Christ and His church effectively. The goal of this mission is to bring honor, glory, and praise to the living God-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. More specifically, the mission is accomplished through the formation of dedicated, trained, and knowledgeable professional ministers, evangelists, cross cultural missionaries, educators, and lay persons worldwide, for the advancement of the kingdom of God.

United Theological Seminary, under the direct supervision of United Presbyterian Churches in the USA founded and Supported by United Training Association, Inc., exists to equip men and women for service in world missions. The Great Commission states: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of theSon, and of the Holy Ghost." With mission fields closing to  non-native workers, UnitedTheological Seminary believes a proper emphasis should be placed on training those who have a burden to reach their own people.

As we approach the challenges of the 21st Century, United Theological Seminary considers it a primary duty to train leaders who will be able to assume the demands of ministry  in a rapidly changing secular-minded world.

Finally, United Theological Seminary considers the recognition of multi-cultural differences as vital in the training of  leaders for the next century. The New York area is a perfect environment for improving cultural skills and understanding. Ourschool desires that every student be in the words of Paul:"thoroughly furnished unto all good works"(II Tim.3:17)
